Dr. Adolfo García, Scientific Director of the LPEN (INCYT, Fundación INECO), has been apointed as a «High-Level Talent» (Category A) by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China. In this capacity, he will lead research projects on neurolinguistics at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, located in the city of Chengdu.

 

Congratulations, Adolfo!

Dr. Adolfo García, Scientific Director of LPEN (INCYT and INECO Foundation), gave the closing plenary conference within the framework of the Second Meeting of Cognition and Language, held at the National University of Uberlandia, Brazil. In the presentation, Adolfo presented the main challenges of experimental research on embodied semantics and discussed methodological innovations to address them.

Dr. Adolfo García, Scientific Director of LPEN (INCYT and INECO Foundation), filmed the first episode of a new cycle of scientific dissemination entitled «Of brains and words». In this proposal, Adolfo will interview leading researchers from the country and abroad to learn about the relationships between human language, the brain and the socio-cultural contexts in which we operate.

For the first installment, changing roles through, Adolfo was interviewed by Dr. Diego Golombek. The talk revolved around various neuroscientific discoveries about the nature of language, bilingualism and translation. We will soon share the entire episode!

Dr. Adolfo García, Scientific Director of LPEN (INCYT and INECO Foundation), has been invited to discuss advances on the cerebral basis of translation at the Federal University of Uberlandia, Brazil. In that context, he will present his most recent book, The Neurocognition of Translation and Interpreting, published by John Benjamins.

 

 

 

A partir del domingo 8 de septiembre, a las 11:30, el Dr. Adolfo García, Director Científico del LPEN (INCYT y Fundación INECO), ofrecerá una columna mensual de divulgación científica en el programa «El verano menos pensado», de Radio Mitre MdP (FM 103.7). Dicha sección, titulada «Mente y comunicación», diseminará conocimiento fundamental para comprender múltiples aspectos del lenguaje, la comunicación no verbal, el aprendizaje y los trastornos de la comunicación a lo largo de la vida.  ¡No se la pierdan!
