In this chapter we analyze how economic decision making has been understood by three theoretical movements: the presupposition of strict rationality; the warning of emotional and social biases; and the review by the neuroeconomics of the behavioral premises. This new approach seeks to understand decision making as supra-individual and non-rational, emerging from implicit and explicit socio-emotional processes.
