Interrupted corporization: research on syntax and semantics of action in movement disorders

García & Ibáñez (2018). Embodiment disrupted - SI in Cortex

In this special issue published for the prestigious magazine Cortex, Dr. Adolfo García and Dr.Agustín Ibáñez brought together more than 10 research teams from around the world to evaluate the sensitivity of different syntactic and semantic deficits as possible markers of neurodegenerative motor diseases. This is the first multicenter effort aimed at evaluating the clinical applicability of these embodied linguistic functions. The initiative sets a precedent for exploring translational developments within the framework of so-called embodied cognition.
